PATTY STERN

Acrylic, Bronze

I had a stick horse when I was a little cowgirl. My mom recalls me trying to feed it grass. So, I guess I’ve loved horses all my life.

I was born and raised along Colorado’s front range. I now live near Berthoud, Colorado, with my husband, Todd, two Paint horses, and a herd of household “rescue” cats.

I feel it’s important to depict more images of the American cowgirl. I truly enjoy mixing vibrant contemporary acrylic colors with period images of cowgirls and women of the west. I collect vintage clothing, cowgirl gear, and inlaid boots. My husband has a passion for cowboy gear. I enjoy using our "western stuff" in my paintings.

The thing I love the most about my art is being able to donate a portion of my sales to my favorite charities and animal sanctuaries. Everyone needs a purpose. I think this is mine.
