I have always painted a wide range of subjects with a wide variety of methods. I do not use painting as a means of depicting specific images-- I paint because I love the process. Currently, I am working on a series of horse scenes with an emphasis on their body language and social interactions with each other. I am also an avid plein air painter. Plein air painting is comparable to gesture drawing for me. I grow most in my abilities when I am outside painting quickly and instinctively.
I have been teaching art in the public schools for 10 years and I love helping others to love art and find their own creative side. I recently finished my Masters in Art with a painting emphasis at Adams State College in Alamosa. I received my Bachelors degree in Art at the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. I owe much to the art professors and fellow painters with whom I have studied.
I am represented at the Sagebrush Gallery and Studio in Florence, Colorado.
